What is this?

Hey! This is Fork the Angel, the creator of this blog which I plan to make an ongoing vs series!
This is episode 1 (of hopefully many), so I thought it fitting to put a little introduction. Feel free to use the table of contents to skip ahead if you’re not interested in anything but the vs stuff itself or if you just want entertainment.
In this series, much like Death Battle, Smash Bracket, or Triple F, I will analyze the two characters’ stories, asses their powers, and use math and science to determine the limits of said powers before finding out who would win in a fight. This project and series is much more similar to those projects than a G1 or other power scaling blog, since this series is less about power scaling and more specifically meant to celebrate characters and entertain above anything else. For instance, I have a full fight scene written out as a novelized short story and my analysis is done by original host characters. Think of this as “If a vs show were text based.” I, of course, did try my best in scaling the characters, and put a lot of work in figuring out how I would personally calculate their feats, but I am ultimately just one college kid who did this all myself. I am not pretending to be definitive and no one is wrong for disagreeing with my stats and conclusions. I, in fact, expect my scaling to be rather controversial; especially given my rules. So, please be kind.
I hope you enjoy!
Rules
- Only a single core medium will be used as the source of information for each champion unless otherwise specified. This refers specifically to one format of media, excluding all other adaptations or extensions, regardless of canonicity.
In this episode, we are only considering the animated series and their animated continuations including Steven Universe, Steven Universe: Future, Steven Universe: The Movie, Adventure Time, Adventure Time: Distant Lands, and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake (I may not explicitly mention some of these series because they don't provide applicable or useful information, but they were all considered).
- There are very strict regulations about scaling champions to others from their stories. Champions will only ever be compared to characters they've directly fought or otherwise physically interacted with and only directly applicable feats based on those interactions will be considered. The goal is to limit champions to measurable feats that they themselves have accomplished.
- Any statements regarding a champions' abilities or power, whether said by a character or by the author themselves, must be consistent with their other showings to be a determining factor. They will be analyzed within the context of plot, character, and other factors to determine reliability under high scrutiny.
- Battles take place in a neutral arena combining environmental traits from each champion’s world as needed to allow full access to their abilities.
For this battle, it will be assumed to be on a large planet with a normal Earth level gravity, an oxygen rich atmosphere, flammable material like trees, and an available large ocean. So basically Earth, starting on some kind of beach connected to a forest.
- No outside help will be allowed in that no independent characters outside the champions can directly interfere in the battle. However, if a champion's ability is only reliant on another's continued existence or passive support, it will be assumed that they have continued access.
- A winner is determined by which champion is more likely to incapacitate the opponent first. This can be done through a fatal blow, rendering the opponent unconscious for enough time that landing a fatal blow is possible, trapping your opponent indefinitely, or otherwise taking away the opponent's ability to fight indefinitely.
- Champions will be pitted against each other and will be assumed to want to fight until they achieve victory. Moral constraints or motivation will only be a factor if there is a specifically applicable trait unique to the matchup itself.
- Champions are assumed to not have any knowledge of each other and are only prepared for battle using standard, non-specialized equipment.
- Champions have access to their full power under normal conditions, however, time taken to reach certain forms or build power will be considered and may be a deciding factor in a battle.
Essentially, champions will not be automatically granted full forms if being defeated before reaching them is likely.
